ACLO Needs Your Support

ACLO is at a critical crossroad and may be unable to produce a 2008 season. Even with great productions that continue to impress and inspire our audiences and despite extraordinary fund-raising activities, ACLO’s survival hangs by a thread.  The cost of our productions has risen so steeply that our revenue simply cannot match our ever-increasing expenses.  Our ticket revenue only covers half of our expenses. We have determined that ACLO needs to raise $100,000.00 by the end of 2007 or we will be forced to bring down the curtain for the very last time.

We are in the midst of a heavy fundraising campaign and need your help to continue not only bringing “Broadway to the East Bay” but also the continuation of our Lippert Internship Program for Technical Theater, Target Family Backstage Pass Program, Summer Youth Program and Adult Educational Programs. These programs greatly contribute to the survival of the arts and allow the arts to remain accessible to young people.

With these severe financial constraints in mind, we planned a season of blockbusters including Grease, Forever Plaid and West Side Story.  But we cannot begin selling tickets for a season we may be unable to produce.  Our Board is searching for financial assistance from every possible source, but in reality it is our loyal patrons and those passionate about musical theater who must decide how much this company means to you and to our community.  We have worked hard to provide our audience, our performers and our interns with the kind of opportunities they want and need but without a substantial increase in donations, we will be forced to bring down the curtain for the last time on our glorious productions and our eleven-year history of bringing Broadway to the East Bay.

How can you help? Make a cash donation. You can mail your check to ACLO at 875 A Island Drive #292 Alameda, Ca 94502 or make a donation using your credit card at www.aclo.com. ACLO will also be offering several fundraising events for the remainder of the year.
